Welcome to the Great Lakes Live Steamers!

We are Southeastern Michigan’s only Miniature Railroad Club that is open to the public. Our trains are 1/8 scale and operate on 7.5″ gauge track. Since 1981 we have been providing free train rides to the communities in and around Royal Oak & Southgate Michigan.

We are an all-volunteer run organization, funded by donations. Most everything the club has, including the trains, were built by our members.

The parks are open to the public, and the train rides are FREE!

Donations are appreciated to help maintain the track & equipment.

Become a Donor

Donations are used for the building and upkeep of the trains and equipment.

Our members are all volunteers and other than the joy of running the trains, we receive no pay or compensation.
